PORTUGAL AGORA – A PROPOS DES LIEUX D’ORIGINE Exhibition catalogue The catalogue of the exhibition PORTUGAL AGORA has been conceived by Marco Godinho. With his graphical language of expression, Godinho explores the question of place, origin, location and interconnections. His book is laid out like a sketch block and it visualises the relationship between the works in a similar way to maps. Coordinates form equally degrees of latitude and longitude, an organisational system for localisation. The reader’s curiosity is actively encouraged, and like in traditional publications, the user must cut open the pages to see the illustrations beyond the coordinates and then to read the book like an atlas. The reader can then enter his own thoughts and comments on the pages in between. Graphic design: Marco Godinho ISBN 978-2-919923-74-8 Mudam editions, 2007 35 €

les cahiers de mudam n°1 FRANÇOIS BOISROND, Mudam ouvre-toi François Boisrond came to Mudam in May 2006 with his colors, paintbrushes and white canvasses in his arms, to bear witness through his paintings - as a backstage historiographer - to the setting up of Eldorado, the museum’s opening exhibition. For several months, the museum became his workshop as he worked in it on a daily basis. He thus became a familiar face to the visitors and the team, blending into the decor and perfectly capturing its variations. Mudam ouvre-toi illustrates the series of drawings and paintings that François Boisrond accomplished in situ. In French and English ISBN 978-2-919923-62-5 Mudam editions, 2007 20 €

PASCAL CONVERT Lamento (1998-2005) Press images that have been seen around the world - the Kosovo Pietà (Georges Mérillon - Gamma, 1990), the Death of Mohammed Al Dura, (after a still by Talal Abou Rahmeh, 2000) and the Madonna of Bentalha (Hocine Zaourar - AFP, 1997) - inspired Pascal Convert’s work. The three wax sculptures, belonging to the Mudam Collection, highlight the symbolic power of images, questioning their political and aesthetic dimension as well as their impact on the construction, the memory and the forgetting of history. A DVD with the documentary films La Madone de Bentalha by Pascal Convert and La Pietà du Kosovo by Fabien Beziat accompanies the monograph. Texts: Marie-Claude Beaud, Pascal Convert, Philippe Dagen, Georges Didi-Duberman, Catherine Millet, Bernard Stiegler Trilingual edition English, French, German DVD with documentary films La Madone de Bentalha by Pascal Convert and La Pietà du Kosovo by Fabien Beziat (English and german subtitles) Graphic design: Bruno Voidey 269 pages ISBN 978-2-919923-50-2 Mudam editions, 2007 55 €
