Design of Mudam Café: Erwan & Ronan Bouroullec Curators of Mudam Café & Boutique: Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman
Mudam Boutique For Mudam Shop, Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman, choose objects with soul and personality. Unique pieces or part of a series, recycled or innovative products, coloured trifle or functional tool, chic or retro, toy or jewel, all answer a book of specifications with the key words of creativity, ethics and fantasising. Inspired by everything possible, the two creative brains travel the world in search of minute details for their Ali Baba’s cave, to create an all-seasons Christmas market atmosphere, while aiming at changing consumerist habits. Like coming straight of a child’s playful universe, the objects are the result of an assembly of dreams and matters, while calling upon amazement and nonconformism. With this poetic inventory, favouring mostly young creators, and where each piece is charged with emotion, it is a part of the Mudam spirit you will carry home.
Mudam Café The same curatorial principles are involved in the artistic direction of the Mudam Café. The team of Mudam Café constantly challenges the habits of their customers, producing a simple cuisine with local, organic products. A concept that follows an initial impulse given by the Luxembourg Bocuse d’Or winner Léa Linster. The result is a “school of tastes” that also takes part in the Slow Food movement. (Slow Food is an international non-profit, eco-gastronomic organization founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local culinary traditions and people’s growing disinterest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.)
